Where to Place Temporary License Plates on a Vehicle?
1 Answers
For passenger vehicles (as opposed to cargo vehicles, including sedans, etc.) that have not yet been registered and need to drive temporarily on the road, two temporary license plates should be affixed simultaneously: one should be placed in the lower left or right corner of the front windshield inside the vehicle, in a position that does not obstruct the driver's view, and the other should be affixed in the lower left corner of the rear windshield inside the vehicle. Relevant information about temporary license plates is as follows: 1. Application Materials: (1) Original and photocopy of the vehicle's certificate of conformity (import certificate for imported vehicles); (2) Original and photocopy of the third copy of the compulsory traffic insurance; (3) Original and photocopy of the first copy of the vehicle purchase invoice; (4) Original and photocopy of the vehicle owner's identity proof (if applying through an agent, the agent's original ID and photocopy are required); (5) Non-local vehicle owners need to provide the original and photocopy of their temporary residence permit. 2. Application Conditions: (1) When driving the vehicle from the place of purchase back to the place of use, a temporary license plate must be applied for at the local vehicle management office where the vehicle was purchased; (2) When transferring the vehicle's registration and the official license plate has been surrendered, a temporary license plate must be applied for at the local vehicle management office to drive back to the original location; (3) For new vehicles in the local area that have not yet obtained an official license plate and need to be driven to another location for modifications, a temporary license plate must be applied for locally. After modifications are completed, a temporary license plate must be applied for at the modification location to drive back to the original area; (4) Temporary use is required when the vehicle's registration has not yet been finalized.
