Where to Place a Car Refrigerator in the Vehicle?

A car refrigerator can be fixed on the seat, in the trunk, or between the seats. Fixed on the seat: Directly secure the refrigerator to the car seat using the straps of the car refrigerator, then connect it to the power source for use; if placed on the rear seat, ensure it is simply secured to prevent tipping if there are no passengers. Placed in the trunk: Extend the power cable through the bottom of the seat to connect to the cigarette lighter socket inside the car. The power cable should be as short and thick as possible, and its specifications should not be lower than the original cable. Placed between the seats: Embedding it in the middle of the rear seats requires prior modification at a 4S shop to reset the refrigerator's built-in position and wiring; however, a major drawback is its smaller capacity.
In my years of driving experience, the placement of a car refrigerator must prioritize safety above all. I always place it in the trunk, securely fastened with a seatbelt to prevent sliding during sudden braking, which could cause accidents. In regular sedans, the trunk offers ample space and good insulation, maintaining cooling efficiency in summer. However, for compact cars or those with spacious rear seating, placing it under the rear seats is an option—just ensure it doesn’t obstruct the rearview mirror or passengers’ legs, as that could distract the driver and create hazards. Avoid heat sources like the engine area to prevent overheating and cooling failure. Poor placement risks tipping the fridge, damaging wiring, or even causing leaks, so proper securing is non-negotiable. Additionally, plug the power cord into the nearest cigarette lighter socket, ideally near the front seats for easy access, to avoid voltage fluctuations affecting performance. In short, stability and ventilation are key.
