For small cars, the ETC device is generally installed in the upper middle part of the front windshield, while for large vehicles such as trucks and buses, the installation position is in the middle to lower part. The suitable installation position should be no lower than 1.2 meters and no higher than 2.5 meters, with an installation angle between 30 and 90 degrees. For vehicles with factory-installed or aftermarket explosion-proof film, which may affect the signal transmission of the microwave communication link, the ETC should be installed in the microwave sunroof strip. ETC stands for Electronic-Toll-Collection, meaning electronic toll collection system. To apply for ETC, you need to provide the original and photocopy of the vehicle owner's valid ID card and vehicle registration certificate. If the application is not made by the owner, the agent's valid ID card is also required. The photocopy of the vehicle registration certificate should include the page with the most recent annual inspection seal. Additionally, a bank card for deducting highway toll fees is required, and the vehicle must be registered under the name of an individual aged between 18 and 60. Here are some precautions for installing ETC: Do not obstruct the view; it is best to install it behind the rearview mirror: Many car models have a large inclination angle of the windshield, which reduces the driver's field of vision. If this is not considered during ETC installation, it will increase the driver's blind spots. Installing it behind the right side of the rearview mirror can avoid obstructing the view. Do not affect charging: The ETC electronic tag consumes power but generally does not require charging or battery replacement because it has a solar panel on the back that can charge itself. Therefore, during installation, avoid the black areas on the windshield and positions that may block the solar panel. Do not remove it arbitrarily once installed: The button in the middle of the adhesive is an anti-removal lever connected to a switch. After installation, the windshield will press the anti-removal lever in. If the tag is removed arbitrarily, the lever will pop out and trigger the switch, locking the electronic tag and rendering it unusable. You will then need to visit an ETC service point to unlock it. This mechanism is designed to prevent multiple vehicles from sharing one device. Things to note when using ETC: The ETC transaction sensing range is 8 meters. To prevent the ETC device of the vehicle in front from malfunctioning, maintain a distance of more than 10 meters from the vehicle in front to avoid automatic toll payment for the wrong vehicle. The ETC lane recognizes vehicles at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour; driving too fast may result in failure to read the vehicle's device information and thus failed toll deduction. When using a debit card linked to ETC, insufficient balance will also cause toll deduction to fail.

My car's ETC is installed in the upper middle part of the windshield, right behind the rearview mirror in that black dotted area. When I went to the bank last week to get it, the staff specifically emphasized avoiding areas with metalized film, as it might interfere with the signal. During installation, just use the built-in adhesive to stick it firmly in place—I deliberately chose a spot near the top so it doesn’t obstruct my view while driving. Remember to test the parking gate response after activation; a friend mentioned that a loose ETC could lead to incorrect charges.

How to Clean and Disinfect Car Air Conditioning?

You can use a car air conditioning disinfectant cleaner to clean and disinfect the car air conditioning. The method for cleaning and disinfecting car air conditioning is as follows: 1. After starting the car, turn on the air conditioning cooling switch, set the air volume to the minimum, adjust the temperature to the highest, and ensure the air conditioning system is in external circulation mode. 2. Place your hand near the air conditioning intake vent, and you will feel the airflow being drawn into the car. Spray the air conditioning disinfectant cleaner into the intake vent, and the cleaner mist will follow the airflow through the air conditioning evaporator into the car cabin. 3. Note that after spraying the cleaner, you should close the car doors and windows to achieve better disinfection results. At the same time, ensure that no people or pets remain in the car during the cleaning process. The cleaning process should last for about 15 minutes, and after completing the cleaning, open the windows for ventilation. 4. Remove the air conditioning filter and clean it with a high-pressure air gun. If it is too dirty, it is best to replace it.

The Difference and Function Between Magnetic Brake and Centrifugal Brake

Centrifugal brakes perform better in long-distance casting than magnetic brakes, but they lack stability and are prone to line bursts in strong winds. Magnetic brake baitcasting reels offer better stability during casting but are less effective with light lures. The shapes of their brake discs are also different. Below is an introduction to the functions of magnetic brakes and centrifugal brakes: 1. The function of a magnetic brake is based on the principle that magnetic lines can pass through metal materials. When the spool is rotated by the line, it cuts through the magnetic lines, generating resistance to control the spool's speed and reduce line bursts. 2. The function of a centrifugal brake is that when the lure flies forward, the line drives the spool of the baitcasting reel to rotate. The centrifugal weights on the spool move outward along the centrifugal disc, rubbing against the centrifugal ring to create friction, thereby controlling the spool's speed. The faster the spool rotates, the greater the centrifugal braking force, and the more centrifugal weights used, the stronger the braking force.

What are the reasons for a sudden increase in fuel consumption in diesel trucks?

Diesel trucks suddenly consuming more fuel may be due to the following reasons: 1. Insufficient tire pressure or aging tires. When tire pressure is too low, the contact area between the tires and the ground increases, leading to higher rolling resistance and increased fuel consumption. 2. Clogged air filter. A blocked air filter can restrict airflow, reducing the amount of air entering the engine and causing higher fuel consumption. 3. Insufficient fuel injector pressure, resulting in poor diesel atomization. 4. Cylinder wear or air leakage, leading to low cylinder pressure and poor combustion efficiency, which increases fuel consumption. 5. During winter, fuel consumption is naturally higher. If winter-grade diesel is not used or the diesel grade is inappropriate, it can also lead to increased fuel consumption.

What are the differences between Auto Hold and Engine Start-Stop?

Auto Start-Stop and Auto Hold are two completely different functions that cannot be compared together, so there is no question of what the differences are. Here is relevant information about Auto Start-Stop and Auto Hold: 1. Auto Start-Stop means that when the vehicle comes to a stop and the brake is pressed firmly, the engine will shut off. Pressing the accelerator will automatically restart the engine. Auto Start-Stop is a feature developed by manufacturers to save fuel. According to authoritative tests, vehicles with Auto Start-Stop can save 10% to 15% of fuel annually. 2. Auto Hold means the vehicle can determine whether to automatically apply the brakes based on actual conditions. Auto Hold is an extension of the ESP function, controlled by ESP components. The Auto Hold button is usually located next to the electronic parking brake. On some vehicles, it is labeled "A," while others display "AUTOHOLD" directly. Pressing the Auto Hold button will show "ON," indicating that the function is activated. 3. Auto Hold can only operate properly when the seatbelt is fastened and the doors are closed. Pressing the accelerator, shifting gears, or turning the steering wheel will deactivate Auto Hold.

Is Wheel Balancing Necessary After Changing Tires?

Wheel balancing is necessary after changing tires. It is essential to perform wheel dynamic balancing after swapping the front and rear tires of a car. A car's wheel is an assembly consisting of the tire and the rim. However, due to manufacturing reasons, the mass distribution of this assembly cannot be perfectly uniform. Relevant information is as follows: 1. When the car's wheels rotate at high speeds, dynamic imbalance occurs, leading to phenomena such as wheel shaking and steering wheel vibration during driving. 2. In dynamic conditions, wheel balance is corrected by adding counterweights to balance the edges of the wheel. This correction process is known as dynamic balancing.
