Where to get a replacement for the remote key?

Remote keys can be replaced at 4S stores or at specialized key replacement shops. When replacing a remote key, the chip inside the key is what needs to be replaced, as this chip is essential for the remote key to lock or unlock the car. The chip inside the remote key also controls the engine start. Even if the car doesn't have a push-button start and requires turning the key to start, the chip inside the remote key is still necessary. Without the chip, the mechanical key alone cannot start the car. The outer shell of the remote key is not waterproof, so it's best to avoid exposing the remote key to water during daily use, as this could damage the chip. Remote keys contain a battery that typically lasts 2 to 3 years. When the battery runs out, it needs to be replaced with a new one.
If your car remote key needs replacement, I recommend trying the 4S store first. Bring documents like the vehicle registration and ID card. The 4S store can read the original anti-theft system data to directly match a new key. Although the price is higher, ranging from a few hundred to one or two thousand, it guarantees genuine parts. If on a budget, large auto parts markets have professional key shops with advanced equipment, charging about half the price. But be sure: after getting a new key, have the technician deactivate the lost key from the system, otherwise the old key could still start your car, which is very dangerous. Finally, note that modern smart keys have anti-theft chips—don’t cheap out with roadside stalls, as mistakes could mess up the entire anti-theft system.
