Where to Apply for ETC Activities?

ETC can be processed at bank branches, expressway service areas, and other institutions. To apply, the vehicle owner must provide original and photocopied versions of their valid ID card and vehicle license. If applying through a proxy, the proxy's valid ID card is also required. The photocopy of the vehicle license must include the page stamped with the most recent annual inspection seal. A credit card application form is needed to bind the ETC card. After obtaining the credit card, swipe it twice and present the POS receipt at designated outlets to receive and install the ETC onboard device for free, with no additional charges. Applicants must be between 18 and 60 years old and own a vehicle in their name. For companies or organizations, a business license (or organization code certificate) and official seal are required. ETC is an electronic toll collection system that allows vehicles to pass through toll stations without stopping. It uses microwave short-range communication between the onboard electronic tag installed on the vehicle's windshield and the microwave antenna in the ETC lane at toll stations. The system processes transactions via computer networking technology with banks for backend settlement. Below are precautions for installing ETC: Do not obstruct the driver's view; it is best to install it behind the rearview mirror: Many car models have windshields with a steep incline, which can reduce the driver's field of vision. Installing the ETC without considering this may increase blind spots. Installing it behind the rearview mirror on the right side avoids obstructing the view. Do not interfere with charging: The ETC electronic tag consumes power but generally does not require charging or battery replacement because it has a solar panel on the back for self-charging. Therefore, avoid installing it on the blacked-out areas of the windshield or where the solar panel might be blocked. Once installed, do not remove it casually: The button in the middle of the adhesive is an anti-tamper lever connected to a switch. After installation, the windshield presses the lever in. If removed, the lever will pop out, triggering the switch and locking the electronic tag, rendering it unusable. Unlocking requires visiting an ETC service point. This feature prevents multiple vehicles from sharing one device. When using ETC, note the following: The ETC transaction sensing range is 8 meters. To avoid paying for the vehicle ahead due to its faulty ETC device, maintain a distance of at least 10 meters. The ETC lane recognizes vehicles at speeds up to 20 km/h; exceeding this speed may cause the system to fail to read the device, resulting in a failed transaction. If using a debit card linked to ETC, insufficient balance will also cause transaction failure.
