Where to Add Water to a Car and How to Do It?

Open the radiator cap and add water until reaching the appropriate level. Note that the water added must be clean. Then close the radiator cap and shut the engine hood. There is usually an indicator-like symbol on the windshield washer fluid reservoir cap. After opening the cap, you can add water inside. Please note that windshield washer fluid needs to be diluted.
I encountered this issue just two years ago when I first bought my car, and only later did I figure out that the car needed antifreeze and windshield washer fluid. Opening the hood reveals two dedicated reservoirs: the round coolant reservoir is usually located near the engine, with a thermometer icon on the cap, while the square windshield washer fluid reservoir is closer to the windshield, marked with a spray pattern. Adding coolant should be done when the engine is cold—place a cloth over the cap before unscrewing it to prevent burns, then check the MIN and MAX lines on the reservoir and fill it to the middle line using a mix of dedicated antifreeze and distilled water. Windshield washer fluid is much simpler—you can buy ready-to-use fluid and pour it in year-round, but make sure to choose the right type for winter or summer. Never add tap water to the coolant reservoir, as mineral deposits can clog the radiator pipes. During every maintenance check, I ask the mechanic to inspect these fluids—DIY work requires extra caution, as improper handling can damage the car, and breaking down mid-drive is even more troublesome.
