Where to Add Antifreeze?

Automobile antifreeze is added to the car's radiator. The car radiator, also known as the heat exchanger, is a key component of the car's cooling system, and its function is to dissipate heat. The coolant absorbs heat in the water jacket, flows to the radiator where the heat is dissipated, and then returns to the water jacket to circulate, achieving temperature regulation. It is an integral part of the car engine. Antifreeze is a type of coolant containing special additives, mainly used in liquid-cooled engine cooling systems. Antifreeze prevents the coolant from freezing when the car is parked in cold winter, which could otherwise cause the radiator to crack or the engine cylinder block to freeze. It also has excellent properties such as year-round anti-scaling and anti-corrosion.
I've always been working with cars. The antifreeze is added to the coolant reservoir in the engine compartment, which is usually a transparent plastic container with a coolant symbol on the cap, such as a thermometer icon. It's typically located on the left or right side at the front of the car and is easy to find. The most important thing before adding is to wait until the car is completely cooled down, otherwise the hot steam can cause burns. It's best to operate a few hours after parking. I recommend opening the reservoir cap and slowly pouring in the antifreeze, not filling it too much. Check the maximum and minimum level marks on the reservoir, filling it to the middle is sufficient. Antifreeze isn't just for preventing freezing in winter; it also helps with heat dissipation and corrosion prevention. If the level is too low, the engine can easily overheat and get damaged, so it's important to check regularly while driving. If the level drops below the minimum mark, top it up a bit. Remember not to add it in the wrong place and confuse it with the windshield washer fluid reservoir. Always use the same type of antifreeze and avoid mixing different types. If it seems complicated for beginners, the manual has illustrations—just take a look and you'll get familiar with it.
