Car door edge guards should be installed on the protruding corners of the doors. These guards are made of rubber or natural rubber and serve as exterior car decorations, primarily protecting the vehicle from minor scratches and damage to components. The installation method for car door edge guards is as follows: 1. Open the door and locate the protruding areas prone to collisions; 2. Wash the car with water and dry the area where the guard will be applied with a towel; 3. Slowly peel off the backing adhesive; 4. Align the guard to the position and press gently to ensure full adhesion to the car surface; 5. Avoid washing the car within 48 hours after installation to prevent the adhesive from getting wet and losing its stickiness.

I remember when I first started driving, I always installed the anti-collision strips in a messy way. Later, I discovered that the best position is the curved edge at the outermost part of the car door, especially the area that makes first contact when opening the door—usually near the bottom of the door side or around the door handle. Why? Because in tight parking spaces, this area absorbs impact most effectively, preventing scratches on the car paint. I prefer applying a continuous strip along the door line without breaks, and I always clean the surface thoroughly before sticking it on. This way, it lasts for one or two years. When driving in crowded places like parking lots or roadside spots, these little strips really save a lot of hassle and reduce neighborly friction.

From a practical perspective, I would apply the anti-collision strips to key points along the door edges, typically the most protruding areas in the design, such as near the curved corners on the side of the door. In terms of placement, it's necessary to cover the entire opening and closing range—simply applying a straight line approximately 10-15 cm up from the bottom of the door will suffice. Why choose this method? Because it directly absorbs external impacts, preventing door deformation when the door hits a wall or another vehicle. During installation, be careful not to place the strips too far inward, as this can reduce their effectiveness. I've personally experienced that improper positioning can cause the strips to detach easily. It's recommended to use strong adhesive tape for fixation and to clean the door surface during car washes.

From a safety perspective, I believe that anti-collision strips must be properly positioned to be effective. They should be placed on the most vulnerable points of car doors that are prone to impacts, such as the middle outer section or edges. These areas make first contact with obstacles when opening doors, providing cushioning protection. Installing them too far inward renders them ineffective. Personal experience: Proper placement in public parking garages can reduce accident risks. Clean the surface before installation and choose flat areas to enhance adhesion.
