The XC60 rearview mirror heating button is located on the right side of the center console, integrated with the rear windshield heating switch. The function of the rearview mirror heating is to ensure clear visibility of the mirror surface during rainy, snowy, or foggy weather by heating the electrical wires embedded behind the mirror. The XC60 is a model under Volvo, with body dimensions of 4688mm in length, 1902mm in width, and 1658mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2865mm. The front brake type of the Volvo XC60 is ventilated disc, the rear brake type is disc, and the parking brake type is electronic.

As a veteran driver who has owned three generations of the XC60, I know all about the rearview mirror heating. In the newer models, it's basically integrated with the front windshield defogger button—that's the one on the center console's air conditioning panel with a fan shape and wavy arrow symbol. Press it on rainy days, and not only will the front windshield defog, but the rearview mirrors will also heat up simultaneously. If you're looking for a separate button, in older models, you might find it near the window control buttons on the driver's door armrest—look for a small button with a curved mirror and water droplet icon. If you really can't find it, check the manual, or simply wait for the engine to warm up and turn on the heater to blow air at the front windshield—the effect is pretty much the same. Just remember that the heating function automatically turns off after about ten minutes to avoid draining the battery if left on too long.

Do tires have a correct side for installation?

Tires do have a correct side for installation, especially when the tread pattern is asymmetrical or unidirectional. It is crucial to install the tires strictly according to the specified direction indicated on the tire. Installing tires incorrectly can lead to reduced grip, uneven resistance on both sides, which in turn decreases braking efficiency, accelerates tire wear, and may cause the vehicle to pull to one side or result in unstable steering. On the sidewall of an asymmetrical tread tire, you can find the word "OUTSIDE," indicating that this side should face outward. Similarly, there is an "INSIDE" mark on the inner side, indicating that this side should face inward.

What Causes Tire Bulges?

Tire bulges are primarily caused by excessive air pressure during use, which reduces the tire's contact area with the ground and leads to premature wear. During operation, rolling acceleration or poor heat dissipation can cause the tread temperature to rise. Tire bulges are categorized into two types: ply break bulges and separation bulges. Separation bulges mainly include crown separation, shoulder separation, and bead separation. Crown separation primarily manifests as delamination at the top of the tread (known as the crown surface). Shoulder separation is a type of sidewall bulge, which can be localized or extensive, commonly occurring between the tread and the sidewall. Bead separation mainly refers to radial tires for heavy loads, typically showing as detachment around the steel rim.
