The X-Trail trunk switch is located below the left side of the steering wheel. Here are the relevant details: 1. Switch operation: You can use any of the following methods: (1) Press the electric rear door switch on the dashboard for more than 1 second. (2) Press the open button on the trunk. (3) Press the electric trunk door button on the smart key for more than 1 second. 2. Hands-free operation: In addition to the "switch operation" methods mentioned above, the trunk can also be opened using the "hands-free operation" feature: (1) Carry the key. (2) Place your hand or luggage (either human or non-human) near the hands-free sensor for about 1 second. (3) The trunk door will unlock and open automatically.

I've driven the X-Trail for three years, and there are actually three ways to locate the trunk switch: The most commonly used one is the square button with a trunk logo on the left side of the dashboard near the driver's seat—just press it to pop open. The second location is directly on the lower right corner of the trunk door; newer models have a recessed button there—press it with your finger, and the door opens. If you have the key on you, holding down the trunk icon in the middle of the key for three seconds will also unlock it automatically. Here’s a handy tip: If your hands are full when loading items, gently swipe your foot under the center of the rear bumper (make sure the key is nearby), and the sensor-activated tailgate will open automatically! Just be careful during car washes to avoid water triggering the sensor.

As a long-time Nissan owner, the most convenient place to find the X-Trail's trunk release button is among the row of buttons on the lower left side of the steering wheel. It's usually next to the fuel filler door button, with an icon showing a car with its trunk open. Some owners modify it to a kick-sensor trunk release, but the factory design actually has an anti-misoperation mechanism—you must stay near the rear with the key for 2 seconds before kicking to activate it. A reminder: if the button isn't working, the power tailgate function might be turned off in the settings—check the vehicle settings menu on the center display. Also, the mechanical keyhole is hidden under a small cover near the license plate light; pry it open in emergencies to manually unlock the trunk with the key.

What is the function of the 'off' button in a car?

The 'off' button in a car refers to the switch that turns off the vehicle stability control system. The working principle of the vehicle stability control system is as follows: when the vehicle is making a quick turn, dodging, or avoiding a suddenly appearing car or animal, if the vehicle slides outward due to understeer or crosses the centerline of the road or even spins in place due to oversteer, the system uses a computer to control the engine output and apply brakes to any wheel, thereby eliminating understeer or oversteer and improving the dynamic stability of the vehicle.
