Where is the X-Trail trunk switch located?

The trunk switch is located below the left side of the steering wheel. To the right of the switch are three modes, in order: hands-free operation and switch operation. Below is the relevant introduction: 1. Switch operation: (1) Instrument panel: Press the electric rear door switch on the instrument panel for more than 1 second. (2) Trunk: Press the open button on the trunk. (3) Smart key: Press the electric trunk door button on the smart key for more than 1 second. 2. Hands-free operation: (1) Key: Carry the key. (2) Sensor: Place your hand or luggage (human or non-human objects are acceptable) near the hands-free sensor for about 1 second. The trunk door will unlock and open automatically.
When I first drove the X-Trail, it took me a while to find the trunk switch. Usually, there are three locations: the first is on the door panel on the driver's side, with a small button icon featuring a car rear symbol—pressing it pops open the trunk. The second is on the car key; holding the trunk button for two or three seconds automatically unlocks and lifts the trunk, which is super convenient. The third is directly under the outer part of the trunk lid, where there's a hidden button that can be activated with a gentle kick or hand press. I remember during my first few uses, I often forgot to check the door button and ended up fumbling in the wrong spot. If the switch fails, it might be due to a dead battery or a blown fuse—first, check if the key battery needs replacing or if the door wiring is securely connected. The trunk switch design is quite user-friendly, but avoid pressing too hard in daily use to prevent faster wear. Regularly cleaning dust around the switch can also prevent poor contact.
