Mercedes-Benz's wiper switch is located on the turn signal lever on the left side of the steering wheel. The automatic intermittent wiper setting can adjust the swing frequency, allowing the wiper speed to vary based on the vehicle's speed. The usage of the wiper is as follows: 1. The leftmost silver button controls the windshield washer fluid spray. Pressing it inward from the outside activates the spray. 2. The button slightly to the right controls the wiper functions. Rotating it switches between five modes: wiper off, low-frequency intermittent wipe, high-frequency intermittent wipe, continuous low-speed wipe, and continuous high-speed wipe. 3. Some Mercedes-Benz models, such as the GLC, also feature a rear wiper.

How to Tell if the Engine Has Taken in Water

If the water level reaches above half of the wheel, there is a possibility that the engine has taken in water. Check the air filter for obvious signs of water ingress, and inspect the intake pipe and intake manifold for any water traces. When you pull out the dipstick, uncontaminated engine oil appears as a translucent, shiny liquid, whereas oil mixed with water will appear opaque, brown, or yellowish. Remove the spark plugs from each cylinder and check if they are wet. If they are, it indicates signs of water entering the engine.

How to Determine if the Drier is Faulty?

Automotive air conditioning dryer tanks are used for filtration; if faulty, they can cause blockages leading to the air conditioning system not cooling. If the material inside the dryer filter is damaged, it can cause dirt blockage in the pipeline. If the dryer filter absorbs too much water, ice blockage can occur in the refrigeration system pipeline.

How to Determine if the Condenser is Clogged?

Connect the condenser's air intake, then pressurize it. During the pressurization process, observe whether any foreign objects are blown out from the air outlet. If no foreign objects are blown out, it can generally indicate there is no clog. If a large amount of foreign objects are blown out, cleaning should be performed.

How to Determine Whether a Car Battery Needs Replacement or Just Recharging?

Car batteries typically have a normal voltage of around 12V, which increases to approximately 13-14V after the vehicle is started. If the voltage is below 12V when the car is off or below 13V after starting, it may be time to consider replacing the battery. During regular maintenance at a 4S shop or repair shop, you can ask a mechanic to measure the voltage with a multimeter to find out.

How to Determine if the EGR Valve is Good or Bad?

Unplug the EGR valve connector. First, locate the power supply and ground wires of the EGR valve. Connect one end of a 5W test light to the ground position. Insert the other end into pin 1 of the EGR connector. If the test light illuminates, it indicates the power supply wire of the EGR valve, meaning pin 2 is the negative terminal. Set the multimeter to the 20V range. Insert the two probes of the multimeter into the power supply and ground wires of the potentiometer signal line. The normal voltage should be 5V. Measure the signal voltage in the EGR valve. The normal reading should be around 0.7V. If it exceeds the normal range, it indicates that the EGR valve is damaged.
