Where is the VIN number on a smart car?

smart car's VIN number is located at the junction angle between the rear trunk insulation pad and the cover panel. The VIN refers to the Vehicle Identification Number. Taking the smart fortwo 2019 model as an example, its body dimensions are: length 2695mm, width 1663mm, height 1544mm, wheelbase 1873mm, fuel tank capacity 33L, and the body structure is a 3-door 2-seat hatchback. The smart fortwo 2019 model is equipped with a 0.9T turbocharged engine, with a maximum power of 66kW and a maximum torque of 135Nm, paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. It adopts a front suspension type of MacPherson independent suspension.
Recently I was also looking for the VIN of my smart car and found that the most common location is the lower left corner of the windshield. From the driver's seat, look forward at the black border where the dashboard meets the glass, and you'll see the 17-digit VIN engraved there. If you can't find it, open the passenger side door and check the metal plate on the door sill—it's also there. Oh, and sometimes there's a label on the floor of the trunk. I remember the inspector told me during the last annual check that if I really couldn't find it, I could check the insurance policy or vehicle registration certificate, as the number is clearly printed on both. The VIN is quite important, so it's best to take a photo of it with your phone and keep it for future reference, so you won't be scrambling to find it when you need it.
