Where is the USB port in the old Tiguan?

Volkswagen Tiguan's USB port is located on the extended socket inside the front center armrest. How to use the car USB: The high-end version of the Tiguan has two USB ports. One is inside the storage compartment in front of the passenger seat. Open the compartment, and you will find a cable with a socket where you can plug in the USB drive. In the high-end Tiguan, there is another USB port under the armrest on the right side of the driver's seat. Open the armrest, and you will find a USB port at the bottom of the compartment. Insert the USB drive into the car's USB port. Turn on the device power to use it. Additionally, you can copy MP3 music from a computer. Generally, the car can only recognize music files in MP3 or WMA format. Precautions: USB drives require driver loading during use. If the USB drive or phone is occasionally not recognized, try reconnecting it. If the USB drive is not used for a long time, remove it promptly to prevent accelerated aging. The host system frequently reads and writes the USB drive, which can affect the host's operating speed. Keep the USB port clean and tidy. If there is rust, water stains, small debris, or other foreign objects in the USB port, the USB drive may not connect properly. Charging should only be done when the car engine is running to avoid damage to the electrical device due to unstable power supply.
The USB port location in the old Tiguan models is actually quite interesting. In my 2013 model, it's on the inner wall of the center armrest compartment, right next to the card slot - just lift the lid and you'll see a square port with a symbol. My friend's base model hides it more discreetly; you have to flip open the small storage compartment lid in front of the gearshift to reveal it. If you have a higher trim with the multimedia system, there might be an additional port below the infotainment screen near the AC knobs. Can't find it? Try checking these spots with your phone flashlight. As a last resort, you can always use a cigarette lighter adapter - the Tiguan has plenty of those ports, which work just as well.
