Where is the turn signal relay of Nissan Paladin?

Nissan Paladin turn signal relay is generally located above the clutch pedal. Function of turn signal: Turn signals are controlled by electronic devices, but still use sound to simulate the clicking sound of the relay. They are turned on when the motor vehicle is turning to remind the driver that the turn signal is flashing and to alert vehicles in front, behind, left, and right, as well as pedestrians, serving as an important indicator light. Types of turn signals: Turn signals use flashers to achieve light blinking. They can be mainly divided into three types: resistance wire type, capacitor type, and electronic type. Among them, the resistance wire type can be further divided into hot wire type (electrothermal type) and vane type (bounce type), while the electronic type can be divided into hybrid type (with contact relay and electronic components) and fully electronic type (without relay).
When I drove my Paladin to Tibet, I had issues with the turn signals and researched this. The relay is usually located in the fuse box under the steering wheel on the left side. Squat down and you'll see a black plastic cover. After opening it, look for a small block labeled 'turn signal' or with a turn signal icon—Paladins often use a square black relay. It's recommended to first check the corresponding 15A fuse (usually in the upper right corner of the engine compartment fuse box), as a blown fuse is far more likely than a relay failure. If replacing it yourself, remember to turn off the ignition and use needle-nose pliers to pull the relay out vertically, ensuring the new part matches the model. As a side note, if the relay clicks unusually loudly or doesn't click at all, it's likely faulty—this issue is especially common during the rainy season due to moisture.
Just helped my dad replace this on his old Paladin. There's a long rectangular fuse box cover near the driver's knee position - pry it open to see about a dozen relays vertically inserted in the base. The turn signal relay is usually the small black cube at the far left of the third row, possibly marked with a lightning symbol. If your turn signals flash abnormally fast or don't work at all, it's likely due to burnt relay contacts. Replacement is super easy - just remember to get the same model (usually Nissan OEM R13 specification), costs about 25 yuan at auto parts markets. While you're at it, check the turn signal ground wire behind the wheel arch liner - corrosion there can cause similar issues.
