The transmission drain port of the Explorer is located on the left side at the rear of the transmission. Hazards of not changing transmission fluid: 1. Can cause damage to the transmission's shift control mechanism; 2. May lead to abnormal wear of gears and clutch plates inside the transmission; 3. Affects normal operation of the transmission, potentially causing damage to the valve body. Transmission fluid is different from engine oil. While both serve lubrication purposes, they perform distinct functions and should not be confused. Differences: Engine oil is the lubricant for the engine system, possessing properties like oxidation resistance, wear resistance, and anti-corrosion. Transmission fluid primarily maintains cleanliness in the gear system and extends the service life of internal transmission components. Due to structural and operational environment differences between transmissions and engines, transmission fluid cannot be used as engine oil, nor can engine oil substitute for transmission fluid.
