Emgrand sensor is located on the water pipe seat of the engine cylinder head. The car sensor is the input device of the car computer system, which converts various working condition information (such as speed, temperature of various media, engine operating conditions, etc.) into electrical signals and transmits them to the computer, so that the engine can be in a better working state. The Geely Emgrand has a length, width, and height of 4632mm, 1789mm, and 1470mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2650mm. The body type is a 4-door 5-seater sedan, equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission, a top speed of 170 km/h, and a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout.

Last time I replaced the sensors on my Emgrand, I paid special attention to their locations. Inside the engine bay, the intake air temperature sensor is located behind the air filter box—you need to remove two pipes to see it. The crankshaft position sensor is the trickiest; you have to lean over the front of the car to reach it, nestled at the seam between the engine and transmission. The oxygen sensor is on the exhaust manifold, glowing red and particularly noticeable. The most interesting one is the rain sensor hidden behind the rearview mirror—that black dot on the inside of the windshield is the camera, so never blast it with a high-pressure washer during car washes. The engine wiring harness runs along the cylinder head, and the blue connector in the bundle of wires next to the coolant pipe is the coolant temperature sensor plug.

As a female car owner, I was educated by the repair shop technician about sensor distribution. Hidden beneath the wipers is the rain sensor, and inside the black area on the back of the rearview mirror is a camera. It gets even more interesting when the car is lifted: a vehicle speed sensor is attached to the transmission housing, and there are two oxygen sensors on the exhaust pipe—one before and one after the catalytic converter. Near the spare tire well, you can also find the tire pressure monitoring sensor receiver. The technician reminded me that sensor wire harness clips are particularly fragile. For example, the ABS sensor wire is fixed along the brake fluid pipe, so don't pull it hard when washing the car yourself.

Friends who have modified the Emgrand are surely familiar with the sensor locations. When upgrading the turbocharger, you'll need to relocate the intake pressure sensor, which is stuck at the third cylinder position of the intake manifold. After chassis reinforcement, the steering angle sensor on the anti-roll bar will change its angle and requires recalibration. The reverse radar probe is hidden next to the license plate light at the rear—be careful not to cover it when washing or waxing the car. The most concealed one is the fuel vapor sensor, tucked inside the rubber hose between the fuel tank and the charcoal canister. Last time, it took me two hours of troubleshooting fault codes to locate it.

A veteran driver who has owned an Emgrand for seven years shares: During summer, the temperature sensor in the dashboard vents is most prone to dust accumulation. If your power windows are hard to operate, check the anti-pinch sensor connector in the door frame rubber seal. The automatic headlight sensor is located in the black dot at the top center of the windshield - improper tint film installation may cover it. Rearview cameras come in two types: license plate bracket-mounted and emblem-flip versions, with the latter's cleaning focusing on hydraulic rod oil seals. Remember to release the safety clip before unplugging any sensor connectors.

Last week, I thoroughly researched the sensor distribution of the Emgrand after the vehicle reported a fault code. The ECU receives 37 sets of data from various parts of the vehicle: the camshaft sensor is located at the front of the valve cover; the wheel speed sensors are positioned on the inner side of each of the four wheel hubs, with longer wiring harnesses on the rear wheels that are prone to wear. The OBD interface is behind the storage compartment under the steering wheel, and the tire pressure sensor ID numbers must be read from here. The clock spring in the steering wheel integrates the airbag sensor and multifunction button signals. A noticeable sign when all sensors fail is that the electronic power steering becomes heavier.
