Last time I installed a reversing radar myself, I specifically studied the Sportage model. The control box is located behind the left trim panel in the trunk. First, clear out the clutter in the trunk and locate the clip-on trim panel near the rear bumper. Use a plastic pry tool to gently pry open the left plastic panel—don’t pull too hard to avoid breaking the clips. Once removed, you’ll see a black square box hanging there, slightly larger than a cigarette pack. The wiring harness is plugged into the side of the box, with a label indicating 'Reversing Radar.' When reinstalling, make sure the wires aren’t pinched, and test the radar sensitivity afterward. Also, avoid placing heavy items in the spare tire well, as it can deform the trim panel and press against the box.
