Where is the rearview mirror heating switch for the 14th-generation Sylphy?

The 14th-generation Sylphy does not have a separate switch button for rearview mirror heating. It shares the same button with the rear windshield defogger, located in the air conditioning control area of the center console, to the left of the air volume adjustment button. When you need to use the rearview mirror heating function, simply press this button to activate it. Car rearview mirror heating is particularly useful in rainy or snowy weather. When the rearview mirror is heated, the heater behind the mirror quickly warms the mirror surface, gradually removing rainwater or fog from the mirror. This eliminates the need for the driver to frequently wipe the mirror manually, thereby reducing driving hazards. The principle of the rearview mirror heating function: After pressing the button, the electric heater behind the rearview mirror glass rapidly heats up to a fixed temperature within a few minutes, typically between 35-60 degrees. The heat is emitted from the left and right rearview mirrors. Meanwhile, as the temperature rises and evaporation occurs, water droplets on the mirror surface become smaller, and fog gradually disappears, effectively heating the mirror and removing frost. However, if the rain is particularly heavy, the effect may diminish and become less noticeable. Precautions for using the rearview mirror heating function: The principle of rearview mirror heating involves adding electric heating wires to the rearview mirror. These wires consume a significant amount of electricity. When using the rearview mirror heating function, ensure the car is in an ignited state. Avoid activating the rearview mirror heating function when the car is stationary to prevent draining the car battery, which could lead to insufficient power for starting the vehicle. Other methods for defogging rearview mirrors include: Opening windows for air convection: Crack open both side windows slightly to allow air convection between the inside and outside of the car. This reduces the temperature difference, causing the fog to gradually disappear. Adjusting the car's air conditioning to the appropriate setting allows the use of warm air from the AC to defog the mirrors.
When I bought the 14th-generation Sylphy, it took me quite a while to locate the rearview mirror heating switch. It's on the air conditioning control panel in the center console, usually marked with a rectangular icon containing wavy lines, labeled as the rear window defogger button. Press it once, and the rearview mirror heating will activate, working together with the defogging function. On rainy or foggy days, I use it to clear the mist on the mirrors, which feels super practical. When operating it, remember that it only works when the car is running, and the heating automatically turns off after about 10-15 minutes to prevent battery drain. If the button doesn’t respond, it might be a fuse issue or a loose connection, so you can have it checked at a 4S shop. For daily driving, I test it before bad weather to ensure it works properly—safety first. The Sylphy’s design is quite thoughtful, integrating multiple functions into one button, saving the hassle of finding multiple switches.
