Where is the radiator located in a Honda Fit?

Honda Fit's radiator is positioned in front of the driver's seat, near the area of the headlights. The function of the radiator is: when the engine's water temperature rises, the water pump circulates repeatedly to lower the engine's temperature, thereby protecting the engine. Taking the 2021 Fit as an example, its body dimensions are: length 4109mm, width 1694mm, height 1537mm, wheelbase 2530mm, fuel tank capacity 40L, and curb weight 1088kg. The 2021 Fit features a MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear suspension. It is equipped with a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum horsepower of 131PS, maximum power of 96kW, and maximum torque of 155Nm, paired with a continuously variable transmission.
When I previously drove a Honda Fit, the radiator was located at the front of the engine compartment. After opening the hood, you could see a rectangular radiator, usually positioned near the grille and fan assembly. This placement is designed to utilize the incoming airflow while driving to effectively cool the engine and prevent overheating. I found it crucial to regularly check the coolant level because leaks or low coolant in the Fit’s radiator can cause the engine temperature to spike. Once, during a long drive without checking, the coolant temperature warning light came on, forcing me to pull over immediately. Now, I check the coolant level every quarter and top it up with the recommended coolant when necessary. I also advise others to develop this habit to avoid costly repairs. When cleaning the engine bay, avoid spraying water directly at the radiator area to prevent damage to electrical components. The Fit’s radiator is relatively easy to access, making DIY maintenance entirely feasible.
