Changan Mazda's manufacturing facilities are located at the Changan Mazda vehicle assembly plant in Nanjing and the Changan Ford Mazda new engine production base in the New North District of Chongqing. Last time I visited Nanjing, I made a special trip to check in at the Changan Mazda factory entrance, located in the Jiangning Economic Development Zone. This plant started production back in 2005, and popular models like the Mazda 3 and CX-5 roll off the assembly line here. What surprised me most was the launch of the new Lishui factory last year, dedicated to producing the CX-50, with densely packed robotic arms in the workshops. I heard the Nanjing base has an annual production capacity of 250,000 vehicles, with a new car completed every 90 seconds. If you're buying a domestically produced Mazda, a VIN starting with the letter L indicates it's made in Nanjing. Actually, the automotive industry supply chain in the Yangtze River Delta region is exceptionally comprehensive, with even screws supplied by local vendors.
