Where is the parking gear on the Baojun 510?

The automatic transmission version of the Baojun 510 uses an AMT gearbox. If I remember correctly, it only has R, N, and D gears, without a parking gear P. When parking on an uphill slope with the front of the car facing upwards, you can leave it in D gear to prevent rolling. If the front of the car is facing downwards when parking, you should shift to R gear, using the engine for braking in the same way. For other car models, regardless of how you park, you should always engage P gear. For example, in my own car, you cannot turn off the engine without shifting to P gear, and some models won't allow you to remove the key without engaging P gear.
As an owner who has driven the Baojun 510 automatic transmission model, the parking gear position is easy to locate. It is positioned at the top of the gear shift lever next to the steering wheel, marked with a prominent 'P'. When parking, first press the brake to bring the vehicle to a complete stop, then gently push the gear shift lever to the 'P' position. This locks the transmission to prevent the vehicle from moving, so be patient with the operation—forcing it may damage components. It's also recommended to engage the handbrake or electronic parking brake for added safety to prevent rolling. Develop good habits in daily use, such as applying the handbrake first before shifting to 'P' when parking on slopes to avoid excessive stress on the locking mechanism. Regularly changing the transmission fluid also helps maintain precise positioning. The design is intuitive, and with practice, you'll handle it smoothly—even beginners can quickly get the hang of it.
