Paladin's cabin air filter is located behind the glove compartment on the passenger side. The function of the cabin air filter is to filter particulate impurities from the air, thereby cleaning the air inside the vehicle. Taking the 2013 Paladin as an example, it is a compact SUV with body dimensions of: length 4545mm, width 1840mm, height 1880mm, wheelbase of 2650mm, minimum ground clearance of 215mm, and a curb weight of 1675kg. The 2013 Paladin is equipped with a 2.4L naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum horsepower of 150PS, maximum torque of 208Nm, and maximum power of 110kW, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The cabin air filter of the Paladin is located behind the glove box on the passenger side. I just replaced it myself last week. First, open the glove box and squeeze the plastic clips on both sides inward to let the entire glove box hang down. At this point, you can see a rectangular plastic cover, which can be opened with a gentle pry. The original cabin air filter is white. When pulling it out, pay attention to the direction of the arrow, and make sure the arrow on the new filter faces downward during installation. It is recommended to replace it every six months, especially before using the air conditioning in summer. I replaced it with an activated carbon filter, which is more expensive than the ordinary one but can filter PM2.5 and odors. After replacement, I clearly felt the airflow increased, and the musty smell in the car disappeared. If you are handy, it can be done in twenty minutes.
