The Pajero water pump is located inside the engine block. The functions of an automobile engine water pump are as follows: 1. Pressurization: The automobile water pump pressurizes the coolant to ensure its circulation within the cooling system. In simpler terms, it continuously circulates water through the radiator and engine block components to carry away heat, preventing the engine from overheating. 2. Cooling: Inside the engine block, there are multiple water passages for coolant circulation. These passages connect to the radiator (commonly known as the water tank) at the front of the vehicle via hoses, forming a large water circulation system. At the engine's water outlet, a water pump is installed, driven by the fan belt, to pump out hot water from the engine block passages and pump in cold water. 3. Heat dissipation: Next to the water pump, there is also a thermostat. When the engine is first started (cold engine), the thermostat remains closed, preventing coolant from flowing through the radiator and only circulating within the engine (commonly known as a small loop). Once the engine temperature reaches above 80 degrees, the thermostat opens, allowing hot water from the engine to be pumped into the radiator. The cold air from the moving vehicle then passes through the radiator, carrying away the heat.
