Where is the oil pump installed?

The oil pump is installed inside the engine, and most oil pumps are located near the engine oil pan. The oil pump is responsible for delivering engine oil, creating pressure to supply oil to all parts of the engine that require lubrication. Engine oil is often referred to as the lifeblood of the engine, as it serves multiple functions including lubrication, cleaning, sealing, cushioning, rust prevention, and heat dissipation. During engine operation, the oil forms a thin film on the surfaces of various engine components, preventing direct contact between parts, reducing friction, and minimizing operational resistance. There are two lubrication methods in an engine: splash lubrication and pressure lubrication. Splash lubrication is achieved through the crankshaft, while pressure lubrication relies on the oil pump to function.
