Where is the OBD port on the Lavida?

The OBD port of the SAIC Volkswagen Lavida is located under the steering wheel in the main driver's compartment, near the knee area. Here is some information about OBD: 1. OBD stands for On-Board Diagnostics, which translates to "on-board automatic diagnostic system" in Chinese. 2. This system continuously monitors the engine's operating conditions to check if the vehicle's emissions exceed standards. If they do, it will immediately issue a warning. 3. When a system malfunction occurs, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) or Check Engine warning light will illuminate. At the same time, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) stores the fault information in memory. The fault code can be read from the PCM using a specific procedure. Based on the fault code, maintenance personnel can quickly and accurately determine the nature and location of the fault for repair.
I also had trouble finding the OBD port in my 2018 Lavida. Eventually, I discovered it was hidden under the driver's steering wheel. If you crouch down and look under the dashboard, just above the brake pedal, there's a trapezoidal socket with a plastic cover. Remember, the older Lavida models had it near the fuse box, but now it's been moved to the knee position near the driver's seat. It's a bit awkward to plug in the diagnostic tool since you have to bend down, but the location is still relatively easy to find.
The OBD port location of the Lavida depends on the model year. For pre-2012 older models, it's located in the fuse box area below the steering wheel - just lift the cover to see it. Newer models generally have it inside the dashboard near the driver's left knee area. Last time I helped my neighbor check trouble codes, it took me two minutes of squatting and feeling around to locate it. Note that the port is a trapezoidal 16-pin blue socket, sometimes covered by a plastic dust cap. If floor mats are installed, they might block access, so remember to lift the mat edges to check.
