Where is the OBD port of the Touran?

The OBD port of the Touran is located behind the plastic cover under the steering wheel. OBD is the On-Board Diagnostics system, which can monitor the vehicle in real time and immediately alert when there is a fault. The system can read fault codes from the PCM through certain procedures, allowing maintenance personnel to quickly and accurately determine the nature and location of the fault based on the fault codes and carry out timely repairs. The Touran is a car under SAIC Volkswagen, with a length, width, and height of 4395mm, 1795mm, and 1634mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2678mm. The car is equipped with safety features such as an intelligent tire pressure monitoring system, ESP electronic stability program, front and rear power windows, one-touch up and down with anti-pinch function, etc.
I usually drive a Touran, and the OBD port is located under the dashboard near the driver's seat, slightly below and to the left of the steering wheel. Once you're seated in the car, just look down above the left footrest, and you'll see a small square connector covered with a dust cap. Pry it open, and you can plug in your diagnostic device. The position is quite well-designed, making it easy to quickly connect a scan tool to read fault codes. If you're not very familiar with it, I recommend checking the user manual in the glove compartment first—it usually includes illustrated instructions. You can also ask the mechanics during routine maintenance, as they often deal with such issues. Avoid operating while driving; wait until the car is parked and the engine is off before plugging or unplugging to prevent short circuits—safety first. Knowing the location can help owners troubleshoot minor issues themselves, saving some money.
