Where is the OBD interface located on an Isuzu pickup truck?

It is located inside the cover panel near the driver's left foot. You can see the OBD socket by removing the decorative panel next to the foot. OBD stands for On-Board Diagnostics in Chinese. This system can monitor the working conditions of the engine's electronic control system and other functional modules of the vehicle in real-time while the car is running. If any abnormal conditions are found, they are stored in the system's memory in the form of diagnostic trouble codes. More details about OBD are as follows: 1. The OBD system continuously monitors whether the vehicle's exhaust emissions exceed the standard during engine operation. If they exceed the standard, a warning will be issued immediately. When a system fault occurs, the malfunction indicator lamp or check engine warning light will illuminate, and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) will store the fault information in memory. 2. The trouble codes can be read from the PCM through a specific procedure. Based on the prompts of the trouble codes, maintenance personnel can quickly and accurately determine the nature and location of the fault. 3. OBD monitors the engine, catalytic converter, particulate filter, oxygen sensors, emission control system, fuel system, EGR, and other systems and components in real-time. Then, through different emission-related component information, it connects to the ECU. When an emission fault occurs, the ECU records the fault information and related codes and issues a warning through the malfunction indicator lamp to inform the driver.
Last time I was fixing my friend's Isuzu pickup, I spent a long time searching for the OBD port before finally locating it in his vehicle. It's right under the steering wheel area—when you sit in the driver's seat, look up above your left knee near the junction of the dashboard base and the steering column. There's a dark trapezoidal socket there. Typically positioned about 15 cm above the clutch pedal, some vehicles hide it behind a plastic cover that needs to be pried open. The location in an older Isuzu D-MAX I encountered was similar, just slightly more toward the center. The placement is well-designed and easy to find without removing any parts—just bend down and reach to plug in the device, much more convenient than some off-road vehicles that hide it inside the glove compartment.
