The body nameplate of the Emgrand GS is located on the B-pillar of the passenger-side door. You can see it by opening the passenger-side door. Emgrand GS Exterior: The new Emgrand GS 2020 continues the new sporty bionic aesthetic design concept, offering two styles: the Dynamic Edition and the Elegant Edition, which respectively present sporty sharpness and fashionable elegance, providing users with more diverse personalized choices. Among them, the Elegant Edition has been upgraded in terms of styling details, adding dazzling bionic components, with a bright red dynamic chrome ring design newly incorporated into the fog light area at the front of the car, combining movement and stillness, focusing on fashionable dynamism. Emgrand GS Powertrain: The new Emgrand GS 2020 is mainly equipped with the 1.5TD 7DCT golden powertrain combination and the 1.4T CVT efficient powertrain combination, both of which meet the China VI b emission standards. Among them, the 1.5TD turbocharged direct-injection engine delivers a maximum power of 130kW and a maximum torque of 255N·m, with a combined fuel consumption of only 6.1L per 100km.

My 2020 Emgrand GS has its VIN plate located right below the B-pillar on the driver's side - just open the door and bend down to see that small aluminum tag. During last year's inspection when searching for the VIN, I squatted there and could clearly see it also displays the production date and engine model. However, I've noticed placement varies by model year - my friend's 2018 version actually has the plate in the engine bay, so I recommend checking both spots. The engine compartment location is trickier; you'll need to lift the hood and feel around the firewall near the windshield or the radiator support frame. If you still can't find it, check the index in your owner's manual - the vehicle information section always specifies the location. Don't go dismantling the dashboard like my neighbor Uncle Wang did in frustration.

Last month when I just picked up my Emgrand GS, the 4S store guy personally showed me the VIN plate location - open the driver's door and look down at the metal strip where the door frame meets the chassis, that silvery plate is it. My Sport version is stuck quite firmly, even car wash water jets can't remove it. Actually this position is quite user-friendly, no need to crawl under the car or open the engine compartment and get clothes dirty. I remember once helping a friend with used car transfer, his 2016 model's VIN plate was next to the battery in the engine bay, probably newer models have optimized it to the B-pillar. If it's not on the B-pillar, check the same position on the passenger side or inside the tailgate, these alternative locations might have it hidden.
