Where is the millimeter wave radar located on the Aion V?

Aion V's millimeter wave radar is positioned at the center of the vehicle, and there is also one in the control center. Radar Sensing: A wireless sensing technology that analyzes the characteristics of received target echoes to extract and identify the target's position, shape, motion characteristics, and trajectory, and can further infer the features of the target and its environment. Its function is similar to human ears. The Aion LX and Aion V models equipped with the optional ADiGO 3.0 system feature five millimeter-wave radars. These five radars are Bosch's fifth-generation radars, the first to be mass-produced globally. Compared to Tesla, which only has one Bosch fourth-generation millimeter-wave radar, the detection range is increased by 50 meters, and the detection angle is expanded by 15 degrees, enabling earlier detection of obstacles at longer distances and wider angles, allowing for earlier deceleration and path planning. Positioning Sensing: By pre-mapping and recording specific road sections, it provides supplementary positioning functionality for the surrounding environment. Additionally, high-precision maps include information such as speed limits for corresponding road sections. Its role is similar to human prior knowledge. The Aion V is the world's first model equipped with high-precision maps. The positioning module stores high-precision maps covering 320,000 kilometers of highways and urban expressways across the country. The high-precision map data, combined with lane lines detected by cameras, GPS signals, RTK differential positioning, and IMU inertial navigation chips, delivers longitudinal positioning accuracy of 1 meter and lateral accuracy of 20 centimeters, ensuring lane-level positioning when the L3 function is activated. The national high-precision map data is updated quarterly via OTA upgrades, ensuring the continuous and precise positioning of the ADiGO 3.0 autonomous driving system.
