Where is the Lavida charcoal canister located?

Lavida charcoal canister is located on the side of the intake manifold. Function of Lavida charcoal canister: Activated carbon adsorbs fuel vapors. When the car starts, the solenoid valve controls the charcoal canister to open, reintroducing the absorbed fuel vapors into the intake manifold for combustion, thereby saving fuel and being environmentally friendly. Symptoms of a damaged Lavida charcoal canister: If the Lavida charcoal canister is damaged, a gasoline odor may be present inside the car or around the vehicle. If the air inlet of the charcoal canister or its filter is clogged, it can cause the engine idle speed to fluctuate. If the charcoal canister solenoid valve remains open all the time, when the engine starts, an overly rich combustible mixture can make the engine difficult to start or even cause it to stall.
The charcoal canister of the Lavida is hidden near the right rear wheel, and you need to remove the wheel arch liner to see it. Last time during maintenance, I specifically asked the mechanic, and he said the location is quite cleverly designed—close to the fuel tank but away from daily scrape zones. The charcoal canister is essentially a small metal container that collects gasoline vapors to prevent environmental pollution from evaporation. Over time, the charcoal canister can easily get clogged, especially if you frequently drive in dusty areas. You might experience pump nozzle shut-off or smell gasoline when refueling. You can replace it yourself, but you’ll need plastic clips, as the original ones tend to break when removing the liner. A pack of replacement clips can be bought online for just over ten yuan.
The mechanic at the repair shop told me that the Lavida's carbon canister is fixed on the inner side of the right rear wheel arch. You need to remove the wheel and peel back the liner to see it. The job isn't too complicated, but you must use a jack to stabilize the car before starting. The carbon canister is connected to two tubes leading to the fuel tank and the engine. When replacing it, be careful not to reverse the tube connections. A common issue is the carbon canister getting clogged with sand and dirt, causing pressure buildup in the fuel tank, which often leads to the fuel pump nozzle clicking off prematurely during refueling. It's advisable to check it regularly, especially after long trips. Replacing a new carbon canister only costs around a hundred yuan, which is much more economical than repairing the fuel tank.
