Where is the installation position for the rear radar on the new Fit?

The new Fit does not have pre-drilled radar positions on the front and rear bumpers, so positioning and drilling are required. After drilling, the radar can be inserted from the outside without removing the bumper, and the wiring can be pulled in from under the trunk. Introduction to parking sensors: Parking sensors are safety assistive devices for vehicles during parking or reversing. They can inform the driver about surrounding obstacles through sound or more intuitive displays, eliminating the hassle of checking around when parking, reversing, or starting the vehicle, and helping the driver overcome blind spots and unclear vision. How parking sensors work: When reversing, parking sensors use ultrasonic principles. The transducers mounted on the rear bumper send out ultrasonic waves that reflect off obstacles, then calculate the actual distance between the vehicle and the obstacle, and provide feedback to the driver, making parking or reversing easier and safer.
When I installed the rear parking sensors on my new Fit, I positioned them at evenly spaced points on the rear bumper—typically one sensor in the center and one or two on each side. Keeping the height around 50 cm ensures wide coverage and minimizes blind spots. During installation, I used a level to ensure even placement. Positioning them too low makes them prone to interference from debris, while placing them too high may miss small obstacles, compromising parking safety. I recommend using a professional mounting kit for secure installation to avoid drilling misalignment, which could damage the bumper coating and lead to rust. The process isn’t overly difficult, but beginners should consider getting assistance for precise alignment and take time to fine-tune the setup for consistent, accurate performance every time you reverse.
