Where is the high-pressure port of the air conditioning in the BMW 525li?

The high-pressure port of the air conditioning in the BMW 525li is located at a hole next to the lower part of the radiator frame. Function of the car air conditioning pressure switch: Pressure switches are ubiquitous in automatic control systems. Installed in the refrigerant circuit of the car air conditioning, they detect the pressure in the refrigeration cycle system. When abnormal pressure is detected, they activate corresponding protection circuits to prevent damage to the system. Common types of pressure switches include high-pressure switches, low-pressure switches, dual-pressure switches, and triple-pressure switches. Working principle of the high-pressure switch: During the operation of the car air conditioning, if abnormal conditions such as blocked radiator fins, non-functioning cooling fans, or excessive refrigerant occur, the system pressure may become too high. Without control, this excessive pressure can damage system components.
The high-pressure AC port of the BMW 525Li is located on the right side of the engine compartment. Near the firewall, you'll find two aluminum refrigerant pipes about the thickness of two fingers—the high-pressure port is the metal fitting with a red or pink protective cap, significantly smaller in diameter than the low-pressure port. A word of caution: don’t mess with this recklessly! Wear safety goggles when removing the cap, as the system operates at over 200 psi, and escaping refrigerant liquid can instantly cause frostbite. If refilling refrigerant, always turn off the engine and wait for the fan to stop completely before proceeding. Last year, while helping a friend, I witnessed a rookie’s tools get flung by the suddenly activated cooling fan—a truly hazardous scene.
