Where is the high-pressure fuel pump located?

The high-pressure fuel pump is located on top of the engine. This pump is typically driven by the camshaft. In a direct injection engine, you can see the high-pressure fuel pump on top of the engine after opening the engine hood. The high-pressure fuel pump pressurizes the gasoline delivered by the electric fuel pump, allowing the fuel injector in the cylinder to spray gasoline smoothly. Direct injection engines must use very high injection pressure because the pressure inside the engine cylinder is significant. Without sufficient injection pressure, gasoline cannot be sprayed out. Direct injection engines have higher injection pressure, resulting in more thorough gasoline atomization and better mixing of air with gasoline.
