The heater switch for the 2006 Reiz is right on the air conditioning control panel, very easy to find. Just look down at the center console, the large temperature adjustment knob controls the hot and cold settings. You'll notice it's marked with blue and red indicators, right? Turn the knob all the way towards the red side to get hot air. Then turn off the AC button, wait 3-5 minutes for the engine coolant to warm up, and the vents will start blowing hot air. If it gets too hot after prolonged use, just turn the knob slightly back towards the blue side. This old-school design is actually more convenient than touchscreens - you can operate it blindly while driving without mistakes, and the knob's textured surface lets you feel the temperature setting by touch.

I'm used to using automatic climate control, and actually there's no need to specifically look for a heater switch. On cold mornings, just press the AUTO button on the panel and set the temperature above 23°C. You'll see the AUTO indicator light up on the display, and the system will automatically decide whether to provide warm or cool air. What's particularly convenient is that it adjusts the fan speed based on the temperature difference between inside and outside the car - it starts with a gentle breeze to prevent freezing your face when first started, and only increases the heating intensity when the coolant temperature reaches 90°C. However, if you're in a hurry to warm up, manually turning the temperature knob all the way to the right HI position will heat up much faster than the automatic mode.

After using the old Mark X for so many years, perhaps the icons on your air conditioning panel have worn off. The heater switch is actually hidden next to the mode knob. Find the knob labeled 'MODE', turn it to the face or foot vent pattern position, and then the larger temperature knob on the right will work. Once in winter, I couldn't get hot air no matter what, only to find out I had mistakenly set it to defrost mode—the little snowflake icon was lit, meaning it was cooling! It's advisable to check the status indicator lights on the LCD screen; the temperature knob can only produce pure warm air when icons like AC or defrost are not displayed.
