The glove box is located in front of the passenger seat. It consists of a glove box light, door hinge, door lock mechanism, and damper. The glove box light provides illumination when the owner opens the glove box, lighting up the interior of the storage compartment. The glove box door lock comes in hook-type and pin-type configurations. The method for removing and installing the glove box is as follows: Open the car's glove box, remove the piston buffer clip on the right side, rotate the fixing button on the inner right side counterclockwise, and there are knobs on both the left and right sides inside that need to be removed. The glove box can then be opened to its maximum extent. Use a clip pry tool to remove the fixing pins on the left and right sides of the glove box. After removing the pins, the glove box can be taken off.

I remember when I first started learning to drive, my friend explained that the glove box is located under the dashboard in front of the front passenger seat, usually on the side of the co-driver. It's a small storage space with a cover that can be opened by pressing a button or pulling a handle, and it can hold various small items such as tissues, maps, or charging cables. The design is pretty much the same across different car models, whether it's a sedan or an SUV, though the size might vary a bit. I often use it during trips to store important documents to avoid losing them. It's important to clean the dust inside regularly to prevent the lid from getting stuck; in winter, you can keep a pair of gloves there as a backup, which is where its name comes from. However, avoid placing heavy items inside, as the lid might accidentally open while driving, which could be startling. Finding it is easy—just sit in the front seat and you'll spot the small door at a glance.

How often should the brake fluid of a Vios be replaced?

Toyota Vios brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years or 40,000 kilometers. However, if driving conditions are harsh, it is recommended to replace it every 1 year or 20,000 kilometers. Brake fluid can easily deteriorate over time, so timely replacement is necessary. When the brake fluid deteriorates, its water content becomes extremely high (exceeding 5%), which directly affects the dry and wet boiling points of the brake fluid. This not only makes it prone to vaporization, causing vapor lock and resulting in noticeably softer brake pedal feel, making the driver feel like the brakes are ineffective, but also affects the stability of the braking system, posing risks during continuous braking. Do not mix different types or brands of brake fluid. Due to differing formulations, mixing brake fluids can lead to a decline in brake fluid performance. If the brake fluid absorbs moisture or contains impurities, it should be replaced or filtered immediately. Otherwise, it may cause insufficient braking pressure and affect braking performance.

What happens if the small chain tensioner is damaged?

Damage to the small chain tensioner can result in increased fuel consumption and bearing failure. Increased fuel consumption due to small chain tensioner damage: A faulty tensioner can cause issues such as increased fuel consumption, lack of power, and engine knocking. The tensioner acts on the engine's timing belt or timing chain, guiding and maintaining optimal tension to ensure proper operation. Bearing damage in the small chain tensioner: The tensioner pulley contains a bearing. If abnormal noises occur, it indicates bearing failure, which may lead to timing misalignment, ignition and valve timing disorders, affecting the vehicle's normal operation. Warning signs of small chain tensioner damage: Timing chain failure disrupts the engine's designed management logic. If timing misalignment occurs, the engine may not function properly, leading to symptoms like unstable idling, poor acceleration, or failure to start.
