Emgrand fuel tank switch is located on the door edge under the driver's seat. There are two small levers - one for the fuel tank and one for the trunk. Find the fuel tank switch symbol and pull it upward to open the fuel cap. The Geely Emgrand measures 4631mm in length, 1789mm in width, and 1470mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2650mm. The Emgrand is equipped with a 1.3T GeTecDVVT turbocharged engine, featuring front-wheel drive with maximum power of 98kw. The turbo engages at 1800 rpm and delivers peak torque of 185NM at 2000 rpm. The Emgrand adopts MacPherson front suspension and double-wishbone independent rear suspension.

As an owner who's driven an Emgrand for five years, I must say the fuel tank release depends on the model. For older versions like my 2016 model, the switch is located near the driver's left foot, next to the door sill with a fuel tank icon on the plastic handle - just pull it after unlocking. Newer models are more convenient, allowing you to simply press the fuel filler flap at the rear when the car is unlocked. Always remember to turn off the engine before refueling - safety first. Also, the fuel filler is on the left rear side, so try to park with the left side facing the fuel pump for easier access with the hose.

As an owner of the new Emgrand, let me tell you there's no physical fuel tank button anymore! Just unlock the vehicle, to the rear and press the lower right corner of the fuel filler door. Heard older models had a lever switch on the driver's left side, but my 2021 version uses electronic sensing. Actually, just gently pressing the fuel door when unlocked makes it pop open, and it automatically locks when the car is locked - super convenient. The fuel filler is on the left side, so when reverse parking, keep the left side closer to the fuel pump to avoid hose reach issues.

Having repaired cars for over a decade, I've seen all kinds of Emgrand models with three types of fuel tank switches: the oldest version has a round button above the brake pedal; after 2015, it was moved to a pull-handle style by the driver's door sill; starting with the 2020 model, all were upgraded to keyless sensing. If you find the pull-handle sticking, don't force it—it might be frozen or jammed. Just use a heat gun to warm up the wiring on the left side of the dashboard. Always turn off the engine when refueling. The fuel cap on the left rear has an anti-misopening design, so don't pry it open randomly.

The first week driving my Emgrand, I was desperate to find the fuel tank switch. Later, I discovered that in the older models, it's a small lever above the driver's left foot with a fuel pump icon—just flip it after unlocking to open. The newer models are simpler: after unlocking, a light tap on the fuel cap pops it open. Remember to turn off the engine when refueling. The fuel cap is on the left rear of the car; park with the left side facing the pump for easy access. And don’t use your at the gas station!

The fuel tank switch of the Emgrand depends on the model year: Before 2018, there was a lever-type switch on the left floor of the driver's seat; after that, all models were upgraded to a center console-linked type, where the fuel tank cover opens with a light press after unlocking with the key. If the mechanical switch is stuck, first check if the central locking is fully engaged. Refueling must be done with the engine off and power cut. The fuel tank cover on the left side of the rear has anti-slip rubber padding. If it's frozen in winter, don't pry it hard—just pour some warm water to solve the issue.
