There is no switch inside the car to open the fuel tank cap. Simply pry it open directly at the fuel tank cap location. If you need to add this feature, please consult your local dealer for installation. Fuel Tank Cap: The fuel tank cap refers to the box on the car used to store gasoline. It is square in shape, made of stainless steel, and has excellent sealing. There is only a small circular opening, about the size of a bottle cap, for easy storage. It is usually located at the rear of the vehicle. Note: If the fuel tank cap cannot be opened, you can start from the trunk. Remove the trunk liner covering the fuel tank, which is usually secured by some plastic clips and can be easily pried open with a screwdriver. After removing the liner, you will see the locking mechanism of the fuel tank cap and the cable used for remote operation. Simply pull the cable to open the fuel tank cap.

Locating the fuel filler cap release lever on the Jetta VS5 is something I often encounter while driving. It's typically situated on the floor near the driver's seat, not far from the door—a small black plastic lever that's easily visible when you glance down. A gentle pull unlocks the fuel filler cap. This design is quite practical as it's within easy reach of the driver, allowing for safe and convenient operation while driving, without the risk of electronic button failures. I remember once when a friend couldn't find the lever while refueling and was in a panic, only to discover it with a quick feel around the footwell. Regular maintenance involves wiping the lever with a damp cloth to keep it smooth and prevent dust buildup that could cause sticking. These mechanical levers are durable, but avoid pulling too forcefully to prevent damage.
