Where is the fuel tank cap switch for the Volkswagen Passat?

There are two types of fuel tank cap switches for the Volkswagen Passat. There is a trunk release button on the driver's door, located near the storage compartment. If you have a remote key, you can also press the corresponding button on the key. Once the fuel in the tank drops to the reserve level, a warning light will illuminate on the dashboard. The display may show a related text message, prompting the driver to refuel as soon as possible, at which point there are approximately 9 liters of fuel remaining in the tank. The fuel tank capacity of the Volkswagen Passat is 70 liters. There is a label on the inside of the fuel tank cap indicating the appropriate fuel grade for the vehicle. If you are unable to open the fuel tank cap, it is advisable to seek professional assistance.
