The fuel filling position of the Highlander is different from other models. The Highlander's fuel filling position is on the driver's side, and the fuel tank switch needs to be opened from inside the car. Most models on the market have the fuel filling position on the passenger side. The steps to open the Highlander's fuel tank cap are as follows: 1. First, open the car door and enter the vehicle. 2. After entering the vehicle, locate the driver's seat. Below the steering wheel, there is a fuel tank icon, which is the fuel tank switch. 3. Once the fuel tank switch is found, press it to open the fuel tank cap.
Last week when I drove my friend's Highlander to refuel, I studied this. On the floor below the left side of the driver's seat, there's a handle with a fuel tank symbol—just look down to see it. Give it a firm pull, and you'll hear a click. Then, get out of the car and press the right edge of the fuel filler door to pop it open. The fuel filler is on the right rear side of the car—remember to turn off the engine before operating.
