Where is the fuel tank cap opened on the A5?

The Audi A5 does not have a fuel tank switch. When the vehicle's central locking is in the locked state, you can open the fuel tank cap by pressing it from the outside. If the fuel tank cap cannot be opened, you can start from the trunk. First, remove the lining inside the trunk that covers the fuel tank, which can be easily pried open with a screwdriver.
When I first drove the Audi A5, the fuel tank cap was located near the left rear wheel, a design that’s quite user-friendly, making refueling very convenient. If you’re a new owner, don’t worry too much about finding the wrong spot—most Audi models have it on the left or right rear side (depending on local traffic regulations). Just remember to turn off the engine before refueling to avoid safety hazards. When refueling, simply open the outer cover, then unscrew the small cap inside. During regular maintenance, check that the cap is properly sealed to prevent dust from entering and affecting fuel quality, which can also extend the engine’s lifespan. Overall, locating it is simple, but developing a habit of regular cleaning is more crucial to avoid misfueling or accidents. These small details make a big difference.
