The fuel pump relay in the BMW 3 Series is located inside the engine cover, near the battery, or in the black box above the left/right front shock absorbers. It is uniformly installed in either the fuse box or relay box. You can open the box cover to check - the relay labeled "FP" on the cover is the fuel pump relay, as all relays are clearly marked. A relay is an electronic control device that consists of a control system and a controlled system, typically used in automatic control circuits. Essentially, a relay uses a smaller current to control a larger current, functioning as an automatic switch that performs roles such as automatic regulation, safety protection, and circuit conversion in electrical systems. The BMW 3 Series represents BMW Group's new generation of sedan products, with a body weight of 1,465 kg, equipped with an inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine. The vehicle dimensions are 4.734 meters in length, 1.811 meters in width, and 1.455 meters in height.

The fuel pump relay in my old F30 is hidden in the fuse box on the right side of the engine bay, that black box near the windshield. You need to remove the cover and check the circuit diagram inside—the small icon with a fuel pump symbol is the one. Last time my car suddenly wouldn't start, it was due to poor contact in this relay. I pulled it out, sanded the contacts with sandpaper, and that fixed the issue. Remember, working with the power off is safest, and the back of the fuse box cover also shows the locations of the spare fuses.

The fuel pump relay of the new G20 model has been relocated to beneath the dashboard, behind the storage compartment near the driver's knee position. When I helped my cousin inspect it last time, we had to remove the interior trim panel first to access the fuse holder. Here's a handy tip: locate it by sound! Have an assistant turn the key to the ignition-on position (without starting the engine) – the click sound from the relay will pinpoint its location. This modification makes it much harder to find compared to the older models, so I recommend keeping a flashlight handy for the job.

Make sure to match the model before starting! For E46, it's in the third row of the fuse box behind the glove compartment. For F chassis, it's the fuse labeled 87 in the upper right corner of the engine bay fuse box. For G series, it's under the driver's seat. Last time, a mechanic mistook the fuel pump relay for the headlight relay in my E90, resulting in a wasted trip. The safest way is to check the circuit diagram in the owner's manual—locations vary significantly by year, and mistakes could fry the control module.

What is the general capacity of a windshield washer fluid reservoir?

Generally, a windshield washer fluid reservoir holds about 4.5 liters. However, the filling capacity varies depending on the vehicle model. For ordinary sedans, adding 2 liters is usually sufficient. The method to add windshield washer fluid is as follows: 1. Turn on the wiper switch to spray the fluid onto the windshield; 2. Open the washer fluid filler cap and add a small amount of fluid; 3. Turn on the wiper switch to clean the remaining fluid; 4. When no more fluid sprays out from the nozzles during the second attempt, add more washer fluid. The functions of windshield washer fluid include: 1. Cleaning debris off the windshield; 2. Lowering the freezing point of the liquid; 3. Ensuring the windshield remains clear and transparent for good visibility; 4. Eliminating static charges on the glass surface; 5. Reducing friction between the wipers and the glass to prevent scratches.

Is it normal to have a speed of 120 km/h with an engine speed of 3500 rpm?

A speed of 120 km/h with an engine speed of 3500 rpm is not normal; this rpm is relatively high. Generally, most cars maintain an engine speed of around 2000 rpm at 120 km/h. When driving at high speeds, the transmission is usually in a high gear, which helps reduce engine speed and save fuel. Engine speed constantly reflects the working condition of the engine. If the speed is too low, fuel combustion in the cylinders may be incomplete, leading to carbon buildup in the engine, which can cause significant damage over time. Conversely, if the speed is too high, it can result in greater engine wear. Engine speed refers to the number of revolutions an object makes around a circular path per unit of time (different from frequency), with common types including rated speed and maximum speed.

How to turn on the high beam of BYD Qin Pro?

The method to turn on the high beam of BYD Qin Pro is: The high beam switch is located on the combination switch behind the left side of the steering wheel. By operating the combination switch, you can control the lights. The height of the headlights can be adjusted using the adjustment knob on the instrument panel behind the left side of the steering wheel. Choose whether to turn on the high beam according to road conditions. If driving on main urban roads, even at midnight, the road lighting is usually sufficient, so there is no need to turn on the high beam. If driving on mountain roads or in rural areas, turn on the high beam in advance after nightfall to avoid accidents. The BYD Qin Pro adopts BYD's Dragon Face design language, features an open platform, and has a body length, width, and height of 4765mm, 1837mm, and 1500mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2718mm.

What Causes the Clanking Noise During Cold Start?

Cold start clanking noise can be attributed to the following reasons: 1. If there is a clicking sound within the first half minute that disappears afterward, this is usually caused by the expansion of the catalytic converter as it heats up, which is normal; 2. A loud clicking noise during cold start is mostly due to issues with the engine's timing system, such as wear, elongation, or loosening of the timing belt or chain, or the failure of the chain tensioner to maintain proper tension; 3. If the noise occurs only when the air conditioning is turned on, it may be due to friction in the air conditioning belt; 4. If the noise is present only during the initial moment of cold start, it could be a fault in the starter motor, primarily caused by poor return of the starter gear, inadequate lubrication of the one-way clutch, or slow return of the gear being dragged back by the flywheel. This phenomenon is more common in winter.

What documents are needed for annual inspection by a non-owner?

If a non-owner goes to the vehicle management office to handle the annual inspection of the vehicle, they need to bring the vehicle registration certificate, compulsory traffic accident liability insurance certificate, vehicle and vessel tax payment or tax exemption certificate, and motor vehicle safety technical inspection qualification certificate. Below is the relevant introduction to the annual inspection: 1. Time: According to Article 49 of the "Regulations on the Registration of Motor Vehicles", the owner of the motor vehicle can apply for the inspection qualification mark to the vehicle management office at the place of registration within three months before the expiration of the validity period of the motor vehicle inspection. 2. Notes: Before applying, the owner of the motor vehicle should complete the handling of road traffic violations and accidents related to the vehicle.

What is the displacement of a 1.2t engine?

1.2t is equivalent to the displacement of a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine. Automobile displacement refers to the sum of the cylinder working volume and the combustion chamber volume, usually measured in liters. The displacement of a mini car is less than or equal to 1.0L; the displacement of a compact car ranges from 1.0 to 1.6L; the displacement of a mid-size car ranges from 1.6 to 2.5L; the displacement of a full-size car ranges from 2.5 to 4.0L; the displacement of a luxury car is greater than 4.0L. Engine displacement is one of the most important structural parameters, more representative of engine size than bore and number of cylinders. Many engine performance indicators are closely related to displacement. Generally, a larger displacement means the engine releases more energy per unit time (converting chemical energy from fuel into mechanical energy), resulting in better "power performance."
