The fuel pump is installed inside the fuel tank, and it is also located within the engine. Function of the fuel pump: It draws gasoline from the fuel tank and delivers it through the pipeline and fuel filter to the float chamber of the carburetor. Thanks to the fuel pump, the fuel tank can be placed at the rear of the vehicle, away from the engine and positioned lower than the engine. Working principle of the fuel pump: Currently, in most vehicle models, the fuel pump is installed inside the fuel tank and is electrically driven. The fuel pump consists of three parts: the pump body, the permanent magnet motor, and the housing. When the permanent magnet motor is powered, it drives the pump body to rotate, sucking fuel in from the inlet, passing it through the internal structure of the electric fuel pump, and then pressing it out from the outlet to supply the fuel system.
I think the fuel pump location on the Envision is quite easy to find - it's hidden inside the fuel tank, specifically at the rear underside of the chassis near the rear axle. Why this design? Mainly to prevent pump overheating, as gasoline helps cool it down. If the pump fails, you'll hear abnormal whining noises or experience sudden engine cranking failure, which means it's time for inspection. I've dealt with similar issues myself - you need to lift the car, locate and remove the fuel tank access cover, and be extremely careful with flammable gasoline vapors during pump replacement.
