The fuel filler button of the BYD Song is located at the lower left side of the driver's cabin. Here is some related information about BYD: 1. Brand History: BYD Company Limited was founded in 1995, starting with a team of over 20 people. By 2003, it had grown into the world's second-largest rechargeable battery manufacturer and established BYD Auto in the same year. Originating as a battery manufacturer, BYD initially played the role of an 'outsider' in automobile manufacturing. It gained a first-mover advantage over other newcomers by leveraging its 'independent intellectual property rights' and the acquisition of Qinchuan Auto. 2. Brand Introduction: BYD Auto adheres to a development path of independent R&D, production, and branding, committed to creating truly affordable vehicles for the people. The product designs incorporate advanced concepts from international trends while aligning with the aesthetic values of Chinese culture.

I've been driving a BYD Song for several years, and the fuel filler release button is located next to the driver's seat, near the sill—basically at the bottom of the left door panel. It's usually a small lever. After parking and turning off the engine, a gentle pull will pop open the fuel cap, which is very convenient. When I was a beginner, I often fumbled to find it, but over time, I got used to it. Now, I always pull it in advance before refueling. Minor design variations across different models might slightly alter the button's position—some place it below the armrest, for example—but the core design keeps it near the driver’s seat. For safety, it’s recommended not to keep the engine running while refueling and to double-check that the cap is securely closed. During routine maintenance, you can clean around the button area to prevent dust from jamming it. These little tips have been quite helpful during my long ownership of the BYD.

How to Replace Engine Spark Plugs?

Method for replacing engine spark plugs: 1. Prepare the necessary tools for disassembly, including 10mm, 14mm, and 16mm sockets, a long extension bar, a ratchet wrench, a magnetic pickup tool, and a rag; 2. After the engine has completely cooled down, unplug the ignition coil connector, then use a 10mm socket to remove the mounting bolts. Once the ignition coil is removed, you can see the spark plug in the cylinder; 3. Depending on the size of the spark plug nut, use either a 14mm or 16mm socket with a long extension bar to loosen it by turning counterclockwise. Once loosened, use the magnetic pickup tool to remove the spark plug; 4. After removing the spark plug, if you don't install a new one immediately, reinsert the ignition coil or plug the spark plug hole with a rag to prevent dirt from falling in; 5. Use the magnetic pickup tool to hold the new spark plug and insert it into the hole, then reassemble following the reverse steps mentioned above. The torque for tightening the spark plug should not be too high, approximately 20Nm is sufficient; 6. After replacing all spark plugs, start the engine to check if they are functioning properly.

Is a Wheel Alignment Necessary After Tire Replacement?

After replacing tires, a wheel alignment is not necessary, but wheel balancing is essential, which is unrelated to wheel alignment. If the vehicle does not pull to one side while driving and the steering wheel remains straight, alignment is not required. However, wheel balancing is mandatory; otherwise, vibrations may occur during driving. A car's wheel is an assembly consisting of the tire and the rim. Due to manufacturing variations, the mass distribution of this assembly may not be perfectly uniform. When the wheel rotates at high speeds, this can lead to dynamic imbalance, causing wheel vibrations and steering wheel shudder during driving.

Are Hybrid Electric Vehicles Considered New Energy Vehicles?

Hybrid electric vehicles are classified as new energy vehicles. A hybrid is a combination of a gasoline-powered car and an electric vehicle. This type of vehicle still uses gasoline and therefore still produces pollutants. New energy vehicles, on the other hand, derive their power from fuels other than gasoline. New energy vehicles refer to automobiles that utilize unconventional vehicle fuels as their power source, integrating advanced technologies in vehicle power control and driving systems to form vehicles with advanced technical principles, new technologies, and innovative structures. Hybrid electric vehicles combine fuel (gasoline, diesel) and electric energy, using an electric motor as an auxiliary power source to assist the engine in driving the vehicle. This represents a technology of complementary advantages and can also be categorized as integrated innovation. Mainstream hybrid technologies primarily rely on the engine as the power source, supplemented by a secondary power source—the battery. These two components work together to achieve energy savings. The electric motor assisting the engine can generate powerful and smooth power during normal driving.

What to Do When a Car Burns Engine Oil Severely?

Solutions for severe engine oil burning in cars: 1. You can appropriately choose to add higher viscosity engine oil to enhance the sealing between the engine pistons and cylinder walls. The ultimate solution to oil burning is to conduct a thorough inspection and repair of the vehicle; 2. Regularly check the oil dipstick, replace the engine oil and oil filter as required by the product manual, and use genuine oil filter parts. If abnormal oil consumption is detected, take the car to a repair shop for inspection. Hazards of engine oil burning: 1. Mild burning: Wastes fuel, reduces power, easily causes carbon buildup, leading to difficulty in starting the engine and engine shaking; 2. Severe burning: Significant oil consumption, severe engine wear, and if the oil runs out, the engine will require major repairs.
