The fog light switch on the Buick Excelle is located at the lower left side of the instrument panel. To operate the fog light: Press button 6 to turn the rear fog light on or off. When the fog light is activated, the indicator on the combination meter will illuminate. Note that the fog light can only be activated when the headlights are turned on, which means the light switch must be rotated to position 3. The Buick Excelle is a compact 4-door, 5-seater sedan with dimensions of 4609mm in length, 1798mm in width, and 1486mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2640mm. It has a fuel tank capacity of 44 liters. This model is equipped with a 1.3T 163 horsepower inline 3-cylinder engine, delivering a maximum power of 120kW and a maximum torque of 230Nm, with a front-engine, front-wheel-drive configuration.

To activate the fog lights on a Buick Excelle, first familiarize yourself with the light control stalk on the left side of the steering wheel. Start the vehicle, then rotate the knob at the top of the stalk to the headlight position. Next, press the small button at the end of the stalk—the one with three diagonal lines and a wave symbol—to turn on the front fog lights. Want to turn on the rear fog light? Press the adjacent button with a vertical line symbol. After each press, glance at the dashboard to confirm the icon lights up, indicating the fog lights are truly on. Important note: Don’t use fog lights indiscriminately. Activate them only when visibility drops below 100 meters in rainy or foggy conditions. Using them unnecessarily can blind oncoming drivers and may result in a fine. If the lights won’t turn on no matter what, it’s likely due to a burnt-out bulb or blown fuse—head to a repair shop ASAP to get it checked.

I've been driving my Excelle for five years, and the fog light switch is located on the left-hand side light stalk. First, you need to turn the headlight knob to the auto or low beam position. Then, there's a fog light button on the side of the stalk – press the raised round button until you hear a click. When using it in rainy weather, avoid stomping on the accelerator through puddles, as splashing water can easily flood the fog light housing and cause a short circuit. Last month, my fog lights got fogged up due to water ingress, and upon disassembly, I found the sealing ring had aged. Replacing the rubber ring fixed the issue. Also, a quick note: the newer Excelle models have the stalk pushed up for front fog lights and pulled down for rear fog lights, while the older models are the opposite.

The key to using fog lights is timing. I typically activate them during heavy rain or thick fog. The operation is straightforward: turn the left-hand stalk on the steering wheel to the headlight position, then press the fog light button at the top of the stalk. A yellow-green fog light indicator will illuminate on the dashboard. If the button doesn't respond, check three things: whether the headlight switch is properly engaged, if the fog light fuse is blown, or if the fog light bulb is burnt out. Rear fog lights have strong penetration but should be used cautiously in urban areas to avoid blinding drivers behind you—they can be lifesavers when encountering sudden fog banks on highways. One last tip: avoid directing high-pressure water jets at fog light assemblies when washing your car.
