Where is the fog light located on a car?

Car fog lights are located below the headlights, at the lowest part of the bumper closest to the ground. Fog lights are divided into front fog lights and rear fog lights. The fog light activation button is on the light control stalk. Locate the fog light symbol position and rotate the control ring to turn on the fog lights. The fog light switch has three positions: position 0 is off, the first position controls the front fog lights, and the second position controls the rear fog lights. When one position is engaged, the front fog lights work; when two positions are engaged, both front and rear fog lights operate together. The purpose of fog lights is to make the vehicle visible to others in conditions of reduced visibility such as fog or heavy rain, so fog light beams need to have strong penetration capability.
From my years of driving experience, I recall that car fog lights are typically positioned low on the front end, such as below the front bumper near the lower corners of the vehicle or at the inner bottom of the headlight assembly. The rear fog light is usually located at the lowest part of the taillight cluster, often with a red lens, either independently illuminated or integrated into the overall design. The reason for placing them so low is to prevent excessive light scattering and reflections back into the driver's eyes during foggy conditions, while directly illuminating the road surface to enhance visibility. Once, on a foggy highway, turning on the fog lights allowed me to clearly see the shoulder and lane markings, helping me navigate safely out of a difficult situation. The control switch is generally found on the lighting stalk near the steering wheel, marked with an icon of a bulb with diagonal lines or an arrow pointing downward. The positioning takes into account airflow and lighting efficiency, avoiding water splash that could dirty the lens and reduce effectiveness. When cleaning, pay extra attention to this area to minimize sand and debris buildup that could damage the light housing.
