Where is the Focus's air filter located?

The air filter for the Focus sedan version is located under the glove compartment on the passenger side, while for the hatchback version, it is on the right side of the accelerator pedal. Remove the cover to see it. For newer models of the Focus, you need to remove the accelerator pedal to access it. There are several screws next to the accelerator pedal; remove them and take off the pedal to reveal the air filter cover. Then, remove the air filter cover to see the air filter. The Focus is a Ford A-segment family car with body dimensions of 4480mm in length, 1840mm in width, and 1500mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2640mm. The Focus features a fully independent rear suspension system, providing smooth cornering performance, and is equipped with double ball joints to effectively eliminate vibration noise from the tires.
The location of the Focus's cabin air filter is behind the glove compartment on the passenger side, which is where I always replace it myself. The specific steps are to first open the glove compartment door, locate the clips or screws on both sides, unscrew and remove the compartment. Once the compartment is off, you'll see a rectangular cover panel; lifting it reveals the filter. I remember newer models like the Focus from 2012 onwards are designed this way, but older models might be slightly different. Replacing the filter is quite easy, and I do it every six months because accumulated dust can reduce airflow and cooling efficiency. Last time I delayed the replacement, there was a musty smell when I turned on the AC, which affected respiratory health. Buying a filter is affordable; you can get one for just a few dozen yuan on e-commerce platforms, and doing it yourself saves on repair costs. The tools needed are simple—a screwdriver is enough, and it takes about ten minutes. Regularly replacing the filter can extend the AC's lifespan, ensuring the air blown out is fresh and dust-free, which is good for both skin and lungs.
