Where is the Focus outdoor temperature sensor located?

Focus outdoor temperature sensor is located on the inner side of the front bumper, on the anti-collision beam. Functions of the outdoor temperature sensor: 1. Detect the ambient temperature outside the vehicle, and the control system will determine the control method based on the difference between the outdoor temperature and the indoor temperature; 2. Provide the ECU with the temperature signal outside the vehicle. The ECU compares this signal with the indoor temperature signal to determine the temperature inside the vehicle to meet the needs of the occupants. Focus is a compact car under Ford, featuring a good chassis and handling. In terms of body size, the Focus measures 4647mm in length, 1810mm in width, and 1468mm in height.
I usually drive a Focus for daily commuting. The outdoor temperature sensor is typically installed near the grille of the front bumper or around the suspension area underneath the car. If you look carefully, you can spot a small sensor probe. Since it's exposed to the external environment, it's prone to getting clogged with mud, insect debris, or snow and ice, which can lead to inaccurate temperature readings. I have to clean it from time to time to prevent the air conditioning from adjusting the temperature incorrectly while driving, affecting comfort. For newer Focus models, the location might be slightly adjusted to be more concealed, but it's still easy to find. It's recommended to regularly wipe it with a soft cloth to keep it clean. If it gets damaged, replacing it isn't expensive—just a few hundred bucks will do. This ensures the dashboard displays the accurate temperature, making long drives more comfortable.
