Where is the ETC installation location?

The ETC installation location is in the upper middle part of the front windshield horizontally. For large vehicles such as trucks and buses, the installation location is in the lower middle part. For vehicles with built-in or later-installed explosion-proof film, which may affect the signal transmission of the microwave communication link, it should be installed on the microwave sunroof strip. For small passenger vehicles with fewer than 9 seats, it should be pasted on the windshield directly behind and slightly to the right of the rearview mirror. For medium and large buses, it should be pasted on the lower left corner of the windshield directly in front of the driver's seat. ETC Usage Notes: The ETC transaction sensing range is 8 meters, so you should maintain a distance of more than 10 meters from the vehicle in front to prevent automatic sensing and payment for the vehicle ahead. The ETC lane recognition speed is 20 kilometers per hour. Driving too fast may result in failure to read the vehicle's device information, leading to payment failure. When using a debit card linked to ETC, insufficient balance may also cause payment failure. ETC lanes are unmanned, with only an antenna hanging above the lane. No operation is required when passing through; just drive at a low speed. The device will automatically communicate with the antenna. Once the barrier gate lifts, it indicates successful communication, and the ETC device will emit a beep as a prompt. ETC Installation Notes: Do not obstruct the view. Many modern vehicles have windshields with a steep rearward tilt, which can reduce the driver's field of vision. If this is not considered during ETC installation, it may increase the driver's blind spots. Install it behind the rearview mirror on the right side to avoid obstructing the view. Do not interfere with charging. The ETC electronic tag consumes power but generally does not require charging or battery replacement, as it has a built-in solar panel on the back for self-charging. Therefore, avoid installing it on the blackened areas of the windshield or in positions where the solar panel may be easily obstructed. Once installed, do not remove it arbitrarily. The button in the middle of the adhesive is an anti-tamper lever connected to a switch. After installation, the windshield will press the anti-tamper lever in. If removed arbitrarily, the lever will pop out and trigger the switch, locking the electronic tag and rendering it unusable. You will then need to visit an ETC service point to unlock it. This is designed to prevent multiple vehicles from sharing one device. The installation height should be no less than 1.2 meters and no more than 2.5 meters. The installation angle should be between 30° and 90° (the angle between the surface of the electronic tag and the horizontal plane). Before installation, clean the front windshield to ensure the glass surface is smooth, clean, and dry.
