Where is the emergency trunk release switch for the BMW 1 Series?

The emergency trunk release switch for the BMW 1 Series is located in the center of the rear tailgate. Normal opening method: Approximately 7-8 cm below the BMW's blue-and-white circular logo, there is a small horizontal strip. Pressing it with your hand will open the trunk. Trunk sensor location: Some models of the BMW X1 are equipped with a hands-free trunk opening feature. Generally, with the key fob on your person, the driver only needs to sweep their foot under the rear bumper sensor, and the trunk lid will open automatically. The closing operation is the same as the opening method. Models without this feature can have it installed as an optional extra. Unlocking the trunk via door unlock: If you are seated in the driver's seat and cannot open the trunk, you can press the vehicle-wide door unlock button located below the hazard lights on the center console. This will also unlock the trunk switch.
